So far I haven't cheated, not once for my month without heat. I have done it for 2 weeks now. Usually when I say I'm going to do this it lasts maybe four days and then I get sick of the curls. I am learning to embrace my inner lion hair. I think IF I cheat the whole one month thing I will cheat on Collin's birthday next Sunday. Who doesn't want a hot wife on their birthday? I'll probably tame the wild hair and straighten it for that day.
Like I mentioned before I use the best hair product for my curls. It is called DevaCurl. I absolutely love it! They have five products that I have come to love.
First is the "No-Poo". It is a shampoo that is 100% sulfate-free and doesn't strip your hair of all the natural stuff that is good for it! I love this shampoo because normally the second I am done washing my hair it feels more rough and definitely not smooth. With this it instantly feels softer with just the shampoo! Imagine what the conditioner does right?
One Condition
This is the conditioner that I use from the hair line. It is great. It makes my hair soo soft! And the nice part of it is it actually is helping my curls stay healthy and keep their curl!
Heaven in Hair
This is a deep conditioner that I just barely started using. I have only used it a couple times, and so far I can tell a difference! You leave it in your hair for 15-30 minutes and then rinse it out it smells really good and makes your hair so smooth and not frizzy at all!
DevaGel
This stuff is optional for me. I can just use the shampoo and conditioner and my curls will come out fine. Not frizzy, and in their perfect lil ringlets. Usually the times I use this is if I am going to bed on wet hair, or if I haven't used the DevaCurl shampoo and conditioner for a while. With that being said, this gel isn't like every other gel out there. It doesn't make your hair crispy or crunchy! It just leave your hair curly and you can't feel any residue! I LOVE this stuff. I personally am not a fan of the crunchy looking hair. That's probably why this stuff is my favorite!
Last but not least is the hairspray from the DevaCurl Hairline.
I really like the smell of this, it is a lavender scent! It is great to give your hair some hold without making it crispy like I mentioned before. It really finishes the whole look off and can add volume in places that you need it.
The only catch that has been hard for me to do is after you shower you aren't supposed to brush through your hair, or comb through it. You can kind of hold pressure with the towel to your head to get excess water, but you aren't supposed to rub the towel all over squeezing your hair like normal. This keeps the curls in their natural state and it helps keep it from going frizzy. Surprisingly, the hair doesn't feel tangled at all when it is dry, I am just so used to combing through it before it dries that it makes it hard to break the habit!
My hair feels so much healthier after the last two weeks. It feels a lot more nourished. It's not nearly so dry or brittle.
All these products aren't the cheapest, but I am so happy with the results that I'll be a lifelong customer! You can buy all these products, and so many more from DevaCurl at Ulta.
Here's some pictures of my hair over the last two weeks so you get an idea of what it can look like.
I'm not the best selfie taker, but you get the point!
Much love,
Andrea
